2024 New Graduate Hire

Originally from Osaka, she studied in the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Kansai University and spent time abroad in Utah, USA. She joined our company in 2024 as a new graduate and is now part of the marketing team. Her responsibilities include managing a video production project as part of our overseas marketing support services, overseeing tasks from hiring international contractors to managing deliverables. In her free time, she enjoys karaoke.

Creating Content for the Global Market with Our International Team

I work as part of the marketing team to create and enhance content for our marketplace, with a focus on the global market. For example, I take time to understand the unique background of each product and create promotional videos tailored to each one. The goal is to present product information clearly to international buyers. To achieve high-quality results, I conduct interviews with chemical makers and use AI technology to produce polished videos.

Since our target audience is overseas buyers, I create all content in English and collaborate closely with international team members. I also handle recruiting and selecting the right overseas talent to support our projects effectively.

The ability to build something from scratch

I’ve really felt my creativity grow as I build systems from the ground up and continuously refine them. Every day, I’m free from fixed rules and predetermined answers, instead coming up with new structures based on my ideas and putting them into action through trial and error. This challenging process keeps me curious and makes my work genuinely exciting.

Building global management skills and improving Excel proficiency

As my team continues to grow, including more international members, I feel it’s essential to build strong management skills to work more efficiently. Right now, I’m using progress-tracking sheets that make it easy to see where the team stands at a glance. However, making better use of Excel is still a challenge for me, so I’m actively working on improving my skills by attending company workshops and expanding my knowledge.

A role that feels like the perfect fit for me

I really feel like my work connects Japan with the world through our marketplace. One of my lifelong goals has been to be a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world, so I feel lucky to have found a role that’s so well-aligned with that. Since I mostly work with international team members, it’s always exciting and enjoyable, too.

A work environment where I can truly be myself

What I appreciate most is the lack of unnecessary (in my opinion) rules. For instance, there are no strict dress codes or appearance restrictions. In a society that often imposes limits on things unrelated to the work itself, I find this aspect of our company really refreshing!

Additionally, while I’m given the freedom to work independently, there are always supportive senior colleagues I can turn to when needed. They treat me as an equal, which makes me feel like I can work as my authentic self.

9:00
Arrive at the Office
I start the day with a light breakfast, like yogurt, while checking messages from our international team members. I also make coffee and take some time to ease into the day, which really helps me stay balanced.
9:30
Managing Communications with Overseas Team Members
I reply to each message, which can take some time since I get a fair amount through various channels. I handle questions, save and review submitted work, send feedback, and assign new tasks. Keeping up steady communication is essential.
10:30
1-on-1 with My Manager and Mentor
I catch up with my manager and mentor to share my progress, review goals, and set priorities for the day. This is also a good time to discuss any challenges or questions I may have.
11:30
Updating Resources
I regularly update documents based on feedback from our overseas team and to keep everything as user-friendly as possible. I always aim to share the most helpful resources with our team.
13:00
Lunch
We can take breaks when we like, but I usually go around 1 PM. I often watch my favorite Netflix series while eating. I’d like to start bringing my own lunch, too!
14:00
Hiring New International Team Members
I evaluate completed work and offer contracts to top performers, assigning tasks to new team members as well. My goal is to build a team of long-term collaborators.
15:00
Creating a Sustainable Work Environment
Updating the manuals is essential to ensure a smooth transition for future team members. I’m excited to see who will join us next and work together!
17:00
Leaving the Office
After work, I head straight home, cook dinner, and relax with another Netflix series (different from my lunch show!). If I’m feeling focused, I’ll draw or read for a bit. On Friday nights, I usually go out with friends and my partner to unwind.
